Marcia Headband

Materials:
2 colors Corny Goodness yarn
Size H crochet hook
Tapestry needle
Button
Gauge: 2 rows double crochet = 1”

With accent color (for center square) chain 3, 7 DC in first chain,
join with slip st to top of ch 3. (8 st)

Row 2: chain 2, DC, CH2, DC in next st, *DC in next st,  DC,CH2, DC in next st* repeat X 3,
slip st to top of ch 2. (20 st)

Row 3: Chain 3, TR in next DC, 5 TR in CH 2 space, *TR in next 2 DC, 5TR in CH 2 space*
repeat X 3, join with slip st to top of chain 3.(28 st)

Row 4: Change color, attach at the center of a 5 treble group (on right side).  Chain 3, DC
dec, DC in next 5 TC, chain 2, DC in same space as last DC, DC in next 5 TC, DC dec.

Row 5: Chain 3, turn, skip first DC, DC in next st.  X 5, DC in chain 2 space, chain 2, DC in
chain 2 space, DC in next st X 5, DC dec.

Repeat Row 5 until desired length.  Attach yarn in the center of the 5 treble group (end of
row 4 when working the first side of headband).  Continue to work as for the first side.

Sew on button, the chain 2 spaces work as the buttonholes.  Weave in ends.  Enjoy!

Abbreviations:
CH = chain
DC = double crochet
Sl = slip
St = stitch(es)
TR = treble crochet
DC dec = yarn over hook, draw yarn through the next stitch, yarn over and draw through 2
loops on hook, repeat on next stitch and complete by yarn over and draw through all three
loops on hook.  This decreases one stitch.
